Sabah and I enjoyed another wonderful weekend. Life is soooooooooo good right now.
On Saturday, we met up with six other local families who adopted from Toukoul orphanage. There were ten babies/toddlers ALL under the age of two. WOW. That in and of itself is overwhelming.
We are so blessed to have so many families in the Portland area who not only have children from Ethiopia, but children from Toukoul. Three of the children at this gathering were at Toukoul WITH Sabah. Another one we found out, came the day after Sabah left, and although she did not take over Sabah's crib, she did get the one right next to it. What a blessing it will be for all these children to have a lifelong connection with each other. Sabah has known three of these children longer than she has known me. It really is amazing.
Here are all TEN babes with some of the mommies and daddies:
On Sunday, Sabella and I were supposed to go to Multnomah Falls with my sister and her family. Her husband and two boys are taking off today for the Philippines and will be gone for almost three weeks. Sunday was supposed to be a special day for the family to spend time together before they left. HOWEVER, the boys are both fighting ear infections, and it was best that they not spend too much time outside (the Gorge can be very windy) before their plane ride. So, they had to cancel, but Sabah and I decided to head on up on our own. It was a very pleasant day and the falls were GORGEOUS. It's hard to get pics of Sabah and I together, and was hard to let go of Sabah's hand (didn't want her to fly over the edge) to get some of her and the falls, but I did manage a few.
A pic with the falls in the background.

All in all, it was a fantastic weekend. And like most weekends, it was entirely TOO SHORT.
