Home a month

Wow, I can't believe we have been home an entire month. It seems like just yesterday we were in Ethiopia meeting each other for the first time. It's amazing to see how much my little sprout has changed over the last month. When I first got her, she had hardly any leg muscles. She wouldn't put any weight on her legs. Now, she loves to stand. She does not stand by herself, but when I hold her up on my lap, she can stand for quite a while, bearing all weight on her legs.

She can also sit by herself for an indefinite amount of time. Oh, she does still sometimes fall over, but for the most part she can stay upright for as long as she wants.

Sabah is a great sleeper at night. This girl gives me at least 12 hours of uninterrupted sleep at night...ok, it's not exactly uninterrupted as she does kind of whine a lot, and whimpers, which wakes me up, but she always falls back to sleep without me having to get up. She is usually asleep by 6:30pm and is up around 7am. Believe ME, I am counting my blessings over this little miracle. She also takes two naps during the day (she was taking three, but is now a "big" girl and only takes two). One nap is usually only 30 minutes, but her afternoon nap can be as long as 2 hours (yes, again, such a blessing).

Miss Sabah is big on eating. If she even sees her bottle, she goes haywire.....even if she just ate. She will also then start crying and throw a fit for a few minutes when she realizes she's not getting it. But, it doesn't last long. She has a bottle every 3-4 hours (it's closer to 4 now), and then also eats solids in the morning and evening. She is ALWAYS hungry though and I joke with my sister than I'm afraid you all might see me on the Maury Povich show in a few years. The topic for the day will be "my two year old weighs 100 pounds).

Well, enough of the boring stuff about her....here are some pics:

Showing off her new found sitting skills (oh, and her new earrings....well, she had to have them re-pierced because the others fell out)

I'm learning how to put her hair in puffs. I LOVE her hair down, but figure I'd better get her use to sitting still while her hair gets done, because this head of hair is going to be hard to tame in a year or so.
Sabah finally got to meet her uncle Ron. Just like his boys, Ron adors Sabah, and Sabah adores her uncle Ron.
She is almost always happy and playful. This pic is for you Auntie Mona....thanks for the outfit.

Sabah decided she was much to mature for the baby bath I had and MUCH more perferrs taking a bath the big girl way. She LOVES the water. I'm going to have to get her in swimming lessons.

Sleeping through the night for mommy.

Oh, I can't forget a picture of my blue eyed son....he's been feeling a bit put out since the baby came, but he's starting to warm up to her....and by warm up I mean he completely ignores her like he does me until HE is ready to be seen.

She is looking so cute! I am glad you are informing us on what she eats because I am always curious about how their appetitie will be when they get home. Wow, what a good sleeper!!!

She can't be that big if she fits in that outfit (thanks for the pic). I am counting down the days until I get to kiss her and hug you - 18!

Your girl looks beautiful!
Lucky you about the sleeping, I wish we had the same luck but with two new kids one of them is always awake ;-)
